Real time and on-demand services through an offsite interpreter
If an interpreter is unable to be on site – either due to a lack of qualified interpreters available in an area or the need for immediate service – it is still possible to access interpreting services through Video Remote Interpreting (VRI).
We Offer 2 Types of VRI
- Video Interpreting – Same cost structure as on-site interpreter services, with a 3-hour minimum. This service is provided through the Boost Lingo scheduling platform.
- VRI (Video Remote Interpreting) – Offered in 30-minute minimum increments.
VRI uses a webcam or other video device in order to provide real-time and on-demand services.
Friends Interpreting Services proudly offers VRI as an on-demand service to provide our clients with a certified professional interpreter when one is not able to be on site.

In addition our interpreters follow all confidentiality requirements from HIPAA, so you can feel confident that your conversation will remain confidential.

We will provide a meeting link via platforms such as MS Teams, FaceTime, Skype, Zoom, Webex, or through our scheduling platform, Boost Lingo.
- Boost Lingo VRI is billed in 15-minute increments.
- All other platforms are supported through our Virtual Interpreting services (3 hours minimum).
